STORY

Diana, the mother goddess turned a young girl into quartz after Dionysus lost his temper with her and made her cry. Dionysus felt so guilty for being  drunk he cried into his cup of wine and the wine mixed with his tears spilt onto the quartz giving this gemstone its purple hue. The young girls name was Amethyst.
